Studio/Bio
Having grown up mostly in So California, I have an attachment to the Surf/Beach culture from the 70's thru the 2000's.. at which time I moved to New York City to further my photographic career. My focus is on bringing what I grew up with and how I feel about the openness of the space, sound of the ocean, and the freedom of swimming in the ocean.
My studio is located in the Hudson Valley, New York about 70 miles north of NYC, in Wappingers Falls, NY. The studio is 1000 sq ft., facility with up to date latest archival printing, mounting, and framing capabilities. I've been traveling the country exhibiting in art shows since 2009, after a career in advertising and commercial photography. I'm a past National Board member, and NYC Board member of APA (American Photographic Artists) I have a degree in Visual Arts from the University of California San Diego (UCSD), and show my work through galleries and retail stores in London, New York, & New Jersey, as well as participate in many of the top juried art festivals around the country.
Process
Most of my current work is being printed on Canson Infinity Plantine Fibre rag and custom framed in white wood spline joined custom made frames for my studio. The work is printed on a 60" Cannon 12 color inkjet printer. I mount the work on a laminating press to Dibond substrate for archival and best options in framing. I also produce in face mounted to acrylic and framed in float mounts- with various styles available, at various commercial labs for a different look, either in glossy or matte styles.
I presently shoot with Sony cameras A7rIV- The photograph is then mounted on Dibond (aluminum) and framed under museum quality reflection control glass, or larger sizes with acrylic and floated away from the glass with spacers. Shipped pieces use a standard acrylic glass to avoid breakage. The frames are custom made hardwood traditional gallery style painted white wood, spline joined corner pieces.
